Message from President Killeen: Gift Days 2025
To faculty and staff across the University of Illinois System:
We are delighted to announce that we will once again be granting three gift days to employees eligible for leave benefits in the upcoming 2025-26 fiscal year. These gift days will be Wednesday, Dec. 24; Tuesday, Dec. 30; and Wednesday, Dec. 31.
Ravneet Chhokar named the UIS Employee of the Month for April 2025
Ravneet Chhokar, director of environmental compliance and safety in Facilities and Services, has been named the University of Illinois Springfield Employee of the Month for April 2025.
“Ravneet’s cheerful and friendly attitude, along with her positive outlook, has been truly infectious throughout the unit. Her upbeat demeanor creates a welcoming environment and her respect for others shines through in every interaction,” her nominator said.
Women’s Tennis Picks Up First Win of the Season at Lewis
The UIS women's tennis team picked up its first win of the season on Saturday afternoon, defeating Lewis 4-3 in Romeoville. With the victory, the Prairie Stars move to 1-9 overall and 1-2 in GLVC play, with three of five conference matches now in the books.
UIS Men's Tennis Falls in Road Match at Lewis
The Illinois Springfield men's tennis team continued Great Lakes Valley Conference play on Saturday afternoon, falling 7-0 to Lewis. The Prairie Stars are now 0-10 overall and 0-3 in conference action, with two league matches remaining in the regular season.
