Aaron Stewart has been named the University of Illinois Springfield Employee of the Month for August 2023. He is the facilities business manager for UIS Facilities and Services.聽
Stewart's nominator commends his work for demonstrating exceptional performance and his ability to handle an extensive workload with precision and efficiency. His knowledge of different programs and systems across campus makes him invaluable when assistance is needed.
鈥淎aron demonstrates a consistently positive attitude toward his job, earning him immense respect from colleagues, subordinates and university leaders,鈥� said Chuck Coderko, his supervisor and associate vice chancellor of facilities and services. 鈥淗is pleasant demeanor and straightforward approach make him approachable to others, creating an environment where open communication and collaboration thrive.鈥�
His cross-departmental collaboration with 天美传媒 System, Illinois Capital Development Board and other units, ensures UIS continues to adhere to financial protocols. Stewart's initiative has significantly improved work order management, fiscal reporting, security access control, budget management, contract renewal process and end-of-year closeout procedures.

At UIS, Stewart also serves on the Campus Senate, the Civil Service Advisory Council and the University Planning & Budget Committee.
