Dr. Sax has been a member of Master of Athletic Training Program since 2020. Her educational background includes BS in Physical Education with Exercise Science emphasis from Virginia Tech, MS in Sports Medicine from the University of Oregon, and PhD in Athletic Training from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions in Provo, UT. Clinically, Dr. Sax worked in the clinical/outreach setting and Collegiate setting for 18+ years before transitioning to full-time in higher education. Teaching assignments have been at both the undergraduate and graduate levels at Anne Arundel Community College in Annapolis, MD and Lenoir-Rhyne University in Hickory, NC before joining UIS.


In her free time, she enjoys crafting, gardening, going to the theater and spending time with her family both 2-legged and 4-legged!
