Your Guide to the UIS Mobile App
There are lots of apps you can download to make your stay at UIS easier. The main one you will want to download is UIS Mobile. You can download UIS mobile on both iOS and Android. It has lots of features, resources, and websites and apps embedded within it.
Upon opening the app, the home page displays:
- Academics
- ID, Wallet & Door Access
- Dining
- Events
- News
- Getting Around Campus
- Health & Wellness
- Safety
- Athletics & Recreation
Here’s a breakdown of what you’ll find under your most used sections:
Academics
In Academics, there are 3 apps you can download:
- Advise U: connect with your advisor, review your schedule or check your account holds
- Self Service: register for classes, view grades, financial aid and personal details
- Canvas: view your coursework and assignments and communicate with professors and groupmates
You’ll also find direct links to key academic resources:
- Brookens Library: access digital databases, research guides and online materials
- The Learning Hub: schedule tutoring appointments or register for academic workshops
Tapping on these tabs will take you straight to their webpages.
ID, Wallet & Door Access
In the ID, Wallet and Door Access tab, you will have access to your digital student ID, can check your Campus Cash balance in your wallet, and can download the HID Mobile Access app for unlocking campus doors that require ID card access.
Events
The Events tab (and calendar icon) displays upcoming campus activities you can also view on UIS Connection, a site where you can find all activities on campus. To attend these events, you will need to download the Corq app. This app contains your event pass, which event organizers will need to log your attendance.
Getting Around Campus
This section includes:
- A Google map of UIS
- A parking map
- A link to apply for parking permits
- A download link for the Park Smarter app to pay for street parking
The Browse tab (bottom menu, four-square symbol) also contains the SMTD Bus and StarBikes icon. Tapping on the SMTD Bus icon will take you to the SMTD site. This is a great resource to help you use the SMTD bus system. The StarBikes icon will take you to the Campus Rec site where you can learn about renting a bike there.
Health & Wellness
On the Health and Wellness tab you’ll be able to log into your UIS Patient Portal to see your medical information and records. You’ll also find quick links to:
- Counseling Center
- Disability Services
- Diversity Center
- Health Services
Safety
On the Safety tab you can call Campus Police directly for emergency and non-emergency situations. You can also download the Rave Guardian app, which allows you to:
- Send real-time texts to safety officials
- Share anonymous tips
- Provide profile and location info in emergencies
- Access important phone numbers quickly
More on the Browse Tab
The Browse tab is located on the bottom menu, with a four-square symbol. This tab has links to:
- iStart (online portal for International Students)
- ITS
- Job Board
- Maps
- Pay My Bill
Once you sign in, the app takes you directly to:
- Canvas
