Alexa Lopez is president of the Gamma Phi Omega sorority and University Bible Fellowship at ý Springfield. She is secretary of the Baile Monarcas cultural dance group and is interning with the Illinois Innocence Project as a case evaluator. “I chose UIS because the small campus allowed me to make a greater impact on the community and my peers,” she said. “My favorite part about UIS has to be the ease of creating events regarding topics I am passionate about and the support that I receive from staff, peers and professors when doing so.” Following graduation from UIS, she plans to get experience in the legal field by working as a legal assistant. She then plans to apply to law school and focus on public interest law.
Leadership is lived at UIS. Every day.
