Employee Development Series: Timekeeping
The Office of Human Resources is pleased to announce the next installment of the Employee Development Series: Timekeeping. This session will be held virtually on June 24th from 9:00-10:30am. All are welcome to attend this session. Systems that we will be discussing and demonstrating are as follows: VSL, AVSL, FLRS, Timesheets (Banner Self-Service). Speakers will also be covering the time-entry process specific to leaves as well as establishing time reporting procedures within your office.

Rising Stars Graduates
Congratulations to the 2024-2025 Rising Stars Program Graduates! The Rising Stars program is designed for new Academic Professional and Civil Service employees to orient themselves to the campus and to familiarize them with the many acronyms, places, and faces they鈥檒l see around them during their employment. Participants just graduated and are pictured above enjoying friendships they've made during one of the events!
Registration for next year opens August 1, 2025. We encourage all new hired employees to register and get one of the limited spots in this program offering!
FY 2026 Holiday Schedule
The schedule of approved holidays for Fiscal Year 2026 is here! Leave benefit eligible employees will receive 11 Holidays and 3 Gift Days in FY 2026. The may be found on the Human Resources website.

Did you know that UIS has a field station located on Lake Springfield just steps away from campus? Well now you do! Bring your lunch and join us for lawn games, canoeing or a field station lab tour on July 15th from 11:30am-1:30pm! Spend your lunch hour getting to know this hidden gem and all that this space has to offer! Cookies will also be provided.

Employee Development Series: Performance Management
We are excited to announce the next installment of the monthly Employee Development Series: Performance Management. This session will be presented by Drew Schlosser, Assistant Vice Chancellor of Human Resources. Topics discussed will include but are not limited to the guiding principles of performance management, processes available for various groups on campus, tips for supervisors, and Do鈥檚/Don鈥檛s from a Legal Perspective. Whether you are new to supervising employees or seeking advanced insights, this session will equip you with essential knowledge that will be key to enhancing the performance of your team.
This session will be held in person on July 31 from 9:00-10:30am in the Student Union Ballroom.
