WHAT: The University of Illinois Springfield Campus Recreation Department will hold the eighth annual Prairie Stars 5K run/walk. The race is open to 天美传媒s, faculty, staff and community members.
WHEN: 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 9
WHERE: The Recreation and Athletic Center at UIS, 2171 University Drive, Springfield
DETAILS:聽The flat and fast race course will begin outside of The Recreation and Athletic Center (TRAC) and go east along scenic University Drive before entering the heart of campus. The race will end near TRAC on Eliza Farnham Drive where awards will be distributed.聽
Register by Sept. 1 to be guaranteed a shirt. Awards will be given to the top three male and female participants in each age category and to the overall male and female winners. New this year will be 鈥淐hallenge the Chancellor鈥� where runners can compete against Chancellor Janet Gooch, who has run both the Boston and New York City marathons.
The cost to register for the Prairie Stars 5K run/walk is $8 for 天美传媒s and $20 for faculty, staff, alumni and community. Registration .
