UIS Commencement 2023 is rapidly approaching, and we鈥檙e looking for volunteers to help make this year鈥檚 Commencement Ceremonies memorable for our students.

Thank you for submitting your Intent to Participate form. You鈥檝e officially notified us that you plan to attend Commencement! The last step in the process is to order your regalia. All students participating in Commencement must wear a black cap and gown (known as regalia).

Confirm your participation in Commencement by submitting an聽聽by聽11:59 p.m. tonight.聽If you do not complete the form today, you will not walk in Commencement.聽

UIS Commencement is at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 13, 2023, at the Bank of Springfield Center in downtown Springfield.

For your situational awareness, the 2023 Commencement Committee wanted to share an update regarding a previous email that was sent out to students about important graduation and Commencement information. To view this email announcement on the UIS website, please click here.
Graduates: Deadline for Commencement Intent to Participate
All graduates wishing to participate in Commencement on May 13, 2023 must submit an Intent to Participate form聽by March 20. Only those who are eligible are able to submit their intent to participate form. This step is required, even for students who are making special cap and gown arrangements (E.g., borrowing a black cap and gown).

FALL 2022 UIS Graduation Application Deadline is Monday, October 3 (APPLY NOW)
Students graduating in Fall 2022 or Spring 2023 must submit an online Graduation Application via Student Self-Service ( - 鈥淕raduation鈥� tab) by October 3, 2022 (Fall 2022) or February 17, 2023 (Spring 2023). Students MUST be sure to verify that all curriculum information is listed accurately BEFORE submitting an online Graduation Application (including major, minor, concentration, etc.).

A total of 1,129 students earned degrees from the聽University of Illinois Springfield聽at the conclusion of the spring semester on May 14, 2022, pending completion of university requirements.
