Summer classes began this week, and much is happening on campus as we prepare to welcome students in the fall. The lower level of the Public Affairs Center will be closed for plumbing renovations, construction on the new Library Commons is set to begin, and work to improve campus-wide Wi-Fi is ongoing. Over the past week, universities throughout the country have reported instances of students or recent graduates having their F-1 visa status terminated, often without notice to the affected individual. Our UIS International Student Services team has been closely monitoring the situation, and unfortunately, some students and recent graduates have had their visa status terminated.

Dear Students, Faculty and Staff:

The University of Illinois Springfield and UPI Local 4100 Non-Tenure Track Faculty Union have reached a tentative agreement on the terms of a three-year contract for the non-tenure track faculty bargaining unit, representing approximately 43 non-tenure track faculty.

In the coming weeks, the parties will go through their respective processes to approve the terms of the agreement. Specific contract terms will be available for public release at that time.
