The Counseling Center provides counseling, outreach and psychological consultation to ��ýs. Services are offered to all enrolled students at UIS.

Prairie Center Against Sexual Assault

Prairie Center Against Sexual Assault (PCASA) supports survivors of sexual violence, promotes healing and prevention and creates social change throughout Central Illinois. We are dedicated to serving as a voice for compassion and justice for victims and a catalyst for social justice in eleven Illinois counties. Services include: Emergency room response, counseling, and legal assistance.

Sojourn Shelter & Services

Working to stop dating/domestic violence, relationship abuse, and stalking. Services include: Court advocacy, individual and group counseling, children’s programs, and emergency shelter.

Health and Wellness Resources

UIS Health Services

UIS Health Services provides medical care to students on campus and can offer a variety of women’s health and sexual health services. These include: STD testing and treatment, birth control options, emergency contraception, and providing well woman exams and pap smears. These services are open to all ��ýs both full and part-time whether or not they have student health insurance.

UIS Campus Recreation

The Mission of Campus Recreation is to provide recreational and wellness opportunities to enrich the lives of our students and the UIS community. UIS has a variety of facilities and equipment, both indoor and outdoor, that provide opportunities for students, faculty and staff to foster health and wellness in their lives through physical activity.

The Women’s Center exists to provide programming and support for women-identified students and their allies on campus.

The Women’s Center exists to provide programming and support for students across a wide range of issues that relate to gender, equity, and justice. Our comprehensive, intersectional, and welcoming approach to the community allows for uplift for individuals of any background and women-identified students and their allies to feel protected and adequately represented. Our programming and services cover a variety of topics, needs, and special interests that allow for community and engagement to manifest. These programs and services cover, but are not limited to, violence against women, women’s empowerment, women’s health, and other identities that are plagued by systematic oppression. Overall, the approach of the UIS Women’s Center is intended to be intersectional, recognizing that not all of those who may identify as women experience life the same way.

In alignment with our mission to foster a supportive environment for all students that values and encourages individuals of all backgrounds and identities to engage with our programs and initiatives, no individuals will be excluded from full and equal participation in the activities, services, and functions of this program based on their identification as a member of a protected class. We welcome the participation of all members of the UIS Community as their interests and our programs align.

The Women’s Center is located in the Student Life Building Room 15 and is generally open 9am to 5pm Monday through Friday.
