Adam Knaze of Bojnice, Slovakia, has been admitted to the University of Illinois Springfield for the fall semester of 2025 and awarded a $20,000 Star Scholar Award for tuition over four years. At UIS, he will major in business administration with a sport management concentration. In high school, Knaze participated in multiple sports. At UIS, he will play for the men鈥檚 soccer team. The scholarship is awarded based on high school GPA and can be renewed if the student maintains college GPA requirements. |
Christopher DiBello awarded a $12,000 scholarship to attend 天美传媒 Springfield

Christopher DiBello of Springfield has been admitted to the University of Illinois Springfield for the fall semester of 2025 and awarded a $12,000 Star Scholar Award for tuition over four years. At UIS, he will major in computer science. The scholarship is awarded based on high school GPA and can be renewed if the student maintains college GPA requirements. After graduation, DiBello plans to pursue a career that will help support his family. |

King Officially Named Head Coach of UIS Cross Country and Track & Field

UIS Athletics has officially named Emmons King the head coach of the Prairie Stars cross country and track & field program, removing the interim title he has held since fall 2022. King joined the UIS coaching staff as an assistant in 2021 and has led the program as interim head coach for the past three years.
During that time, the men's cross country team continued its run of top-four finishes at the GLVC Championships, and the women's team returned to the top four in fall 2024.

The UIS Performing Arts Center venues are temporarily closed! While our performance venues are closed for 15 months due to a major campus plumbing infrastructure update, our ticket and administrative offices remain open. Our stages may be dark, but the UIS Performing Arts Center is still active behind the scenes. We're continuing our educational and community outreach programming鈥攁nd working hard to refresh Sangamon Auditorium to enhance your future patron experience. |
